I have finally finished the Rigging of PopEye. The wrists and ankles have IK solvers, and the legs also have other constraints to help in posing of PopEye, like copy rotation, location, and stretch to.

I made a few extreme poses to test the mesh deformation. As you can see in the video the Blender's new feature, Bone Heat, does a great job blending the influence of one bone to the other on the mesh.

The people at Blender Institute have done such a great job making this free software a powerful tool for CG artists. I support their hard work by purchasing the DVDs and books from Blender Foundation e-shop. It also helps me to understand and discover its many capabilities and put them to use.

Right now I'm working on animating Miss Piggy model to later insert it in a scene with video rotoscoping. That also is going to be an interesting venture. As you know I'm still learning all these techniques and it takes me longer than usual to complete a task. I like to solve problems so I'm going to try to make this work.

Click on the picture to see a video of Miss Piggy walking. I have used mocap bvh files for it in Blender.
Next step is to get the mesh deform properly . As you can see in this video, there are some issues that need to be resolved.

In this tutorial you will see how to add reference pictures in Blender for modeling and see one of many different ways to model. I admit the edge loops I'm using are not the best, but it will give you an idea how to fill the surfaces to form a three dimensional model from two 2D images. This is the first part of a multi part video tutorial.

Thanks for watching and any comment is appreciated.

If you have been to my site before you may have noticed a lot of changes. I have converted from the old CMS and html format to this wonderful and beautiful portal called "memHT Portal" As you can see at the bottom of the page, it is a free software under the GNU/GPL License.

It took me a bit of research to find out how to add audio video contents in it and noticed some other users had the same need for more info. I decided to make a short video tutorial to help those using this great software!

I hope you'll enjoy this and other tutorials to come.
