Here is a short video of PopEye animation, Sneaking through the night.

I edited the PopEye mesh, mostly to resize the Arms and hands, as my son suggested. I now am going to start small animation clips to test the PopEye model and learn how to animate a 3D model in general in Blender.

Here is a walk cycle video of PopEye.

I have finally finished the Rigging of PopEye. The wrists and ankles have IK solvers, and the legs also have other constraints to help in posing of PopEye, like copy rotation, location, and stretch to.

I made a few extreme poses to test the mesh deformation. As you can see in the video the Blender's new feature, Bone Heat, does a great job blending the influence of one bone to the other on the mesh.

The people at Blender Institute have done such a great job making this free software a powerful tool for CG artists. I support their hard work by purchasing the DVDs and books from Blender Foundation e-shop. It also helps me to understand and discover its many capabilities and put them to use.

I have finally finished the rest of the body of PopEye model and also finished the shading and texturing. Click the image to see a short video of the model with Camera pan around it.

So far the PopEye modeling is coming along very well, I'm now working on texturing. I think I got ahead of myself, starting to texture before I finished the legs and shoos!.

I Love Blender!

My son have asked me to model PopEye the Sailor for him. It is his faivorate cartoon character. So my next project is to model PopEye and maybe even animate him later.

Right now I'm working on animating Miss Piggy model to later insert it in a scene with video rotoscoping. That also is going to be an interesting venture. As you know I'm still learning all these techniques and it takes me longer than usual to complete a task. I like to solve problems so I'm going to try to make this work.

Click on the picture to see a video of Miss Piggy walking. I have used mocap bvh files for it in Blender.
Next step is to get the mesh deform properly . As you can see in this video, there are some issues that need to be resolved.

I have been busy on a project modeling Miss Piggy. It was finally finished late last night. The wonderful free Blender 3d program was used to model, texture, and render Miss Piggy. In this short video clip you will see the model rotated and camera animated to take a closer look at the model. You can also check the forum to see the evolution of Miss Piggy during the last few weeks.

In this tutorial I have imported into Carrara, the eye modeled in Hexagon. I will attempt to select various shading and texture that will resemble an eye.
